Apologies for the lateness of this posting but I just returned from Christmas in Melbourne.
There is a small administrative matter to deal with from Round 8, Fjmidln has Lawrence Thomas selected on the bench and as such a yellow card has been issued for having a MVFC player in your team. A second yellow will have you removed from the SFCU League.
Subs are manual this year?! Just realised that I’ve had high scoring players (Krishna and Vidosic) on the bench the last few weeks, and they haven’t collected points even though I’ve had a few DNPs in the side.
The next paragraphs are a cut and paste from the terms and conditions page of the Fantasy League website. The software does not select the highest scoring substitute. I much prefer the previous software.
c) Automatic substitutions
If a goalkeeper in a participant’s starting Fantasy team does not play in any matches during a Fantasy Game Week, that goalkeeper will be replaced automatically in the Fantasy team by the substitute goalkeeper (provided that the substitute goalkeeper played in a match during that Game Week).
If any field player in a participant’s starting Fantasy team does not play in any matches during a Fantasy Game Week, that inactive field player will be replaced automatically in the Fantasy team by a substitute bench player, provided that the substitute bench player played in a match during the relevant Fantasy Game Week and the starting Fantasy team maintains a Valid Formation. Substitute bench players will be substituted into the Fantasy team as needed. In the case of there being more than one bench player for a position, the lowest scoring Player will be used.
Automatic substitutions are applied at the end of the Game Week when all matches have been played.
A high scoring round courtesy of a brace from Alf for all in the SFCU, but first some house keeping. Fjmidln has earned a second yellow for having a MVFC player in their team. There seems to be a bug in the fantasy software, but as soon as this is ironed out Fjmidln will be removed from the league and will no longer appear in the leaders tables.
First, some housekeeping. I am not sure why but it seems that Newcastle and CCM players will not be counted in the scoring for the upcoming round. Keep this in mind when transferring and arranging the bench.
No explanation that I could find. Also, Brisbane Roar players will also not be counted in Round 12 and all four of these teams may be counted twice in round 13.
Since this is a new forum and new thread, I come here once again protest the no MV player rule, which has kept me out of this comp.
By adding their players into my team, I’ve managed to get both Honda and Niedermeier off the pitch, while Barbarouses has dipped in effectiveness.
Earlier in the season I broke Riera’s form to the point I don’t even bother including him anymore.
All superheroes have to hide their identity. Bruce Wayne does not receive Batmans recognition.
Continue your work from the shadows while we remain safe in the knowledge that when a season ending injury to Ola Toivinen is needed we can call for you (sausage roll symbol beamed into the night sky).
Base level of hatred will always see the high profile budget slots left to MV and Wests players (though the latter club is now so broken I no longer waste spots on them).
@eddie Toivonen you say? I’ll see what I can do. I just don’t want to remove Honda as he’s clearly their point of difference.
For @CN001 and @RoryBunk - the software has been changed this year and I can’t actually physically remove players from the SFCU Fantasy League if they have MVFC players in their team. All I can do is not include Red Carded players in the Leaders Boards each week.
