The Gus poyet interview was entertaining.
He’s so unfiltered. It’s great value
You were saying that culturally, we don’t like Cups, so my point was that Australians love Grand Finals.
No point in liking cups when we don’t have cupholders.
Real talk
Now sold out for the day before flights, so I assume an amarda of 120kg uni students is descending on Singapore. Plenty available to return on the 10th somehow.
On a scale of Jetstar to Singapore Airlines, where does Scoot sit?
Never flown with them, so just wondering about their reliability (in terms of cancelled flights etc,)
Think budget business class.
You get a good seat (enough room for my fat arse and with leg room to spare). Includes luggage allowance, meal (same selections as regular seats), and seat selection all of which you’d otherwise have to pay for if wanted. No infotainment but power sockets are in every seat. Fast line at check-in and boarding too.
I recently did Syd > Singapore > Tokyo return. First flights I’ve taken since the before times and very glad I grabbed it rather than cattle class.
Only ever had 1 rescheduled flight to another day, few months notice.
Bring an IPad and smuggle some water bottles if possible as you pay for those on the flight.
I’ve done scoot to Europe twice with a stop over in Singapore. I’m a larger gentleman. You’ll be fine.
On that front (sorry blanked it the first time) they’re fine as far as I know. Fully owned by Singapore Airlines.
Thanks all for the Scoot+ info. Flights locked in.
I’ve been to Singapore as well as onwards to Greece on Scoot economy, and found it to be perfectly comfortable compared to going to Europe/mideast on one of the gulf airlines in economy. The main draw back is long overnight stopovers in Singapore airport, not the comfort of the planes, which are all ex-Singapore airlines. If anyone is thinking of going economy, main advice is smuggling drinks and snacks and prepping devices with offline content.
Basically Jetstar… Singapore Air literally copied Qantas for the long haul 787-based Scoot (and then later bought and folded Tiger Air Singapore (320s) into the Scoot brand.
Jetstar’s Business (once called StarClass) is probably a bit better than Scoot Plus in terms of catering (premium meals and unlimited alcohol on Jetstar, whereas Scoot uses the same meals as economy and is only one drink if I recall).
Scoot does have it’s Scoot in Silence cabin in economy which is quite nice guaranteeing no kids in the forward economy mini cabin.
Go with minimal expectations and if the flight is on time it’s decent enough.
Live Lion City v Balesteir Khalsa in the Sing Cup if anyone wants to do some late night research.
Cher Deng formerly at CCM playing at the back for Balesteir.
