Sorry, edited my post to say ‘broader argument’. You’ve got a point with the playing strips, that’s just bizarre. We’ve certainly cut corners with the women, however.
No doubt but their (AFL) product is devoid of any talent because they’re so obsessed with making it like the men’s game but disassociating it from that same product.
Look at the NRL. Those girls play in the same strip as the men but only 35 minute halves. It is by far the superior product
Adjustments to the field could work in AFL. They also play shorter quarters, I think.
I feel like a cricket pitch is generally the same size, especially when it comes to having a stadium and broadcast capability on the sidelines…making one 50m smaller is going to be like watching the a league at the SCG.
