ALM - Round 13 Discussion - 2024/25

Haha commentator just called this the New Distance Derby

Auckland 5346 vs Wellington 5255 according to google.

Is it further than the Russian one, St Petersburg v Vladivostock or whatever?

Either way it’s the closest one in a recognised league.

I’m pretty sure that’s longer but it isn’t consistently done because there isn’t usually a team on the east coast in the top flight.

Pick that out…

Jeez he’s hit that hard

Man Sakai went down badly there, surely he has to come off after that

Sakai was out before he hit the deck there.

Just blow the half time whistle ref, he’s done.

No need for any assessments, he’s cooked.

The stumble when he got up told the story. Double whammy too, looked like his head hit the turf pretty hard.

Interesting facts for ya.

The doctor Auckland are using was one of the team doctors at the women’s game last night.

Do teams use neutral doctors? Auckland’s doctor didn’t travel?

I may have had a drink or 2 tonight but did I just see a half time substitution by Steve Corica?

When the Matilda’s played Taiwan the medical staff for Taiwan were all wearing the kit of a Korean(?) club.

In saying that, I don’t think clubs travel with their own doctors or medical staff.

There was a physio at Watson who used to massage the Swans players but never travelled.

Talk about taking one for the team. Young Auckland kid with a red card DOGSO on his debut.

Hard luck Auckland, beating Perth isn’t for everyone.

12/13 rounds in, have people worked out Coricas tactics? Will he adapt?

Is it all over? Corica out?

They were basically playing at midnight NZT. Not hard to see why they were a bit flat and out of sorts. Perth also looked actually up for it, for the first time this season.

They arrived in Perth on Wednesday to climatise so no excuses there

They spent a Wednesday in Perth, no wonder they lost the game. I’m surprised they haven’t lost the will to live.

Is Auckland any better?
