It is the filth after all, but that’s a disgraceful decision. Wasn’t even the last man.

They got very lucky against WU. Can’t wait for the post match Poppa interview after this one.
Putting on the popcorn now for Popa’s post match interview
melbourne have been stigmatized
Why do I continue to watch this garbage? I’m not here to watch referees give fucking stupid decisions every fucking game. I want to watch football, not this shit.
Could have been a perfectly fine and uncontroversial game with the original decisions for all incidents
Seriously, if you explained red and yellow cards to a non football fan, then showed them that Barcellos challenge, I don’t reckon anyone would say “yeah, red”
Technically it might be, but not really
That sequence is true A-League. Well done, everyone
Best league in the world
I did put money on this one, one shiny golden dollar. Cheers!

Agreed. It was a foul, the kid caught Kuol’s leg mid stride causing him to go down, but if the ref didn’t give it (outside the box) then play on. The replay they showed the most was the far view, clearly checking Geria’s position, and looks to me he would get there. Not a “clear and obvious” DOGSO error.
The Barcellos one also a shocker, accidentally stepping on a blokes ankle as he turns you is now considered reckless and a red… the VAR’s must be getting paid a commission per referral.
Nice to see the Socceroo striker curse has done it’s thing on Fornaroli.
Newcastle and Macarthur finished 2-2 as well. Not too much movement on the table this round with four draws out of six.
Only thing worse than the refereeing was the commentary by Hill and Harper.
Am I the only one that doesn’t have a problem with the Barcellos red?
He’s late, doesn’t play the ball, and stamps down on the guys ankle. Could have easily done serious damage.
Big difference between careless and reckless.
Chapman spun away quickly, there was no intent there, it’s careless (foul and no problem with a yellow) all day long as he’s accidentally stepped on him while trying to get a toe on the ball. Nowhere near what should be the reckless standard with studs pointing upwards (say like the Hendrix one).
This had similarities to the Halloran one yesterday, but that one looked way worse and did result from a professional foul. I don’t think Halloran intended to stomp on the calf, they kinda got tangled up, but there was a definite intent to foul and bring the man down which probably sent it into reckless territory when it went wrong.
They’re setting a very dangerous precedent if pretty much stepping on someone’s foot sees the VAR regularly attention whoring.
It’s yet another one of those ones where they freeze framed it and suddenly deemed that it should be a red card. There have been way too many of those.
