Finals attendances are suggesting that we’ve matured beyond needing finals.
First Past The Post + expanded Australia Cup KTHX.
Replace finals with the last 3 rounds of the Aus Cup, always been my idea.
We still need finals. We just need less shit Victorian teams with no fans

Finals attendances haven’t been good, but imagine attendances in like the last 10 rounds where every team except like 2 had nothing to play for.
Even if no one turned up for finals at all we still need them. And the GF is always going to be a cash cow.
If we had a comp with relegation and promotion and champions league qualification that people really cared about - different story. But I don’t think we’ll ever have that in our lifetime.
Thankfully they moved the game into the city. If they’d held it at Ironbark they might have had an embarrassingly small crowd. Making it more expensive is also always a great strategy to create demand.
They got 3k for their elimination final against Adelaide. There was 5k at AAMI Park for their home first away game against City.

Are Auckland FC going to prove themsrlves as just the trojan horse that put the shame through to the final.
If it wasn’t Melbourne & I gave a s**t I’d say that was definitely a yellow for the foul on Fornaroli.
With score remaining nil all going into half time you would have to say it was a tactical blunder on the part of Auckland to scrap the kiddie slide behind the goals.
