ALM Squad Speculation Thread 2024/25 (Part 1)

I guess Brazete was a bit far down the pecking order, even at his age, that he had to pursue opportunities elsewhere. He could well do a job somewhere else in a year or two, based on what I’ve seen.

Is Kasawaya a LB or RB? Or both?

Ugh. Understand Brazete, he’s got potential to be the next Clayton Taylor but we’re fucking stacked there. But kinda thought Kasawaya was next in line behind King if JCP starts at CB? He was named in our ACL squad FFS.

The only thing that disappoints me about both of them leaving is that we get no fee for them.

Brazete is a long way from the first team here but he’s definitely got A League potential. No way I’d have him ahead of Tiago Quintal or Marin France though and they’re really going to struggle for game time if there’s no injuries.

Kasawaya strikes me as one of those powerful African players that dominates junior football but plateaus as the late developers come into their prime.
He was played on either side because of his pace and strength but was weak defensively and had little end product in attack.
I won’t be surprised to see him bounce from A League club to A League club until he’s 23 and becomes an NPL player.

Big call…

Quintal with a man of the match cameo off the bench for the Young Socceroos. Played the last 30, got 2 assists. Was the only player able to create space, beat an opponent, and just attack in general. Playing right wing.
Jovanovic gave him something to work with too. The starters were atrocious, couldn’t create a single shot against Afghanistan u20s.

I like Quintal and really hope he’s given some minutes this season, he’s exactly the sort of poster Australian football needs.

Cap him

I cant even find a single article or tweet relating to the game, let alone a video.

Thanks. Our man Quintal has done very well there indeed

Worth clicking on that just for the best example of a keeper entering THE REDDY ZONE I’ve seen in ages.

This is a really good 11 minute bio of Douglas from a somewhat neutral source - an yes, Sydney FC gets a 10 second mention at the end.

Thanks for posting that, was a good watch. You can’t deny the raw talent and I really hope he can keep fit and his body holds up. I was pretty doubtful about this when we signed him and I was surprised at just how fit, strong, and agile he looked in the ACL2 game.

Est Reading time 9 minutes?

Where do they get that figure?

Average stay on pages with similar word counts.

Fuck me.

How slowly do people read?

I opened the page, but didn’t get to reading with all my other tabs open at least 30 minutes later…

The system is unreliable.

Just do you and forget the noise thrown at you. Happier life.

Curiosity is cool.

I hear it was responsible for the death of many loved pets of the feline variety…
