ALM Squad Speculation Thread 2024/25 (Part 1)

Wood on loan is a good option. Won’t get many chances playing up front for Perth though.

Sotirio can do one

It’s mostly that he seems so much more composed in the ball, which is a refreshing change after struggling to play out against Newcastle and 10-man Melbourne.

Sotirio? :face_vomiting::face_vomiting::face_vomiting:

I would MUCH rather Pat Wood.

Why is it that every time I feel able console myself with “we may be shit, but at least we’re not starting him” the club makes it their mission to sign him? What’s next? Delbridge?

Yeah Sotirio can get in the bin. Absolute waste of a spot that would be.

We’re stacked in the front third even without Burgess, Glasson and Wood. Imagine JK would be second choice 9 behind Klimala (don’t expect to see Lolley there again while Costa is out), but a Sotirio should still be behind Quintal and France, who are in turn behind JK, Lolley, Ouahim and Caceres for the wide roles before DC is back. Would be such a pointless signing even without factoring his questionable quality, really can’t see it happening.

Jesus. We’re not using Max as it is and he’s a better player.

Sending Wood on loan and releasing Burgess should be about giving more minutes to Quintal and Kucharski and promoting the next line of academy players into the squad roles currently occupied by Quintal and Kucharski. Bringing in Sautirio would be such a disappointing move and I’d rather have just kept Burgess then.

It’s everyone’s fault on here.

Talay obviously reads the forum all the time and decided Burgess was shit.

Now we are stuck for however many years with a dud

Not advocating for signing Sotirio, because we certainly don’t need anyone in his position, but Talay is the only head coach that has made him look like a professional footballer.

He has a hard enough job doing that with what he’s got right now, let’s not make him take on more work.

The only way Sotirio makes sense is if Talay thinks he can turn him into a right back and he’s really cheap, otherwise I don’t understand how he fits in. In fact I’m struggling to see how he fits into any A-league team.

Thats such a disappointing rumour

I can’t believe any A-League club is being linked with Sotirio. Surely this is a hoax. The bloke has always been NPL 2 level.

I’m sitting in the clubhouse and just heard Maxi being announced to meet fans in the sky lounge

Which set of fans?

Pat Wood is set to join the Glory on loan from Sydney FC.

Those with access to the sky lounge…so corporate boxes and whoever bought a ticket to the sky lounge for today’s game

“Socceroos defender Milos Degenek is being chased by Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory,”

Why the fuck aren’t we in those conversations?! I’d hope we are and just doing a better job at keeping it under wraps.

The vast majority of our recent transfers have been kept under wraps until they’re announced.

I don’t think we’re getting him though and to be honest I’m not overly disappointed. He’s barely played for years now and would be a serious injury concern.
I know we need an experienced CB but there’s no point in having one if they’re not out on the field.
