He can directly replace Kosta as:
- An ordinary 9
- A less ordinary 10, he does the odd bit of damage picking the ball up in a pocket
- Someone far better suited to playing wide in a front 3, but because we won’t he’ll end up
- Hybrid’s scapegoat of choice

Corica being retained allows him to have a full non-Covid affected season to prove he can do it. Unless you want us to go down the WSW route and just get rid of everyone that doesn’t make us into a world class team on the first go?
On the first go? This isn’t Corica’s first season, while results have been good it’s obvious we have been on the decline comparable to the previous season, and if the trend continues next season will be a spoon battle

Yeah. I think it’s a factor.
I don’t think it’s the ONLY factor, of course, but I don’t think it’s worth pretending it didn’t bring its own challenges or your nonsense version where apparently it affected every club the same way and to the same extent somehow cancelling it all out.
But when I said cataclysmic events, more meant Covid, wrapped up with the fox/HAL schism, the resulting salary cap reduction. Even stuff like leaving the SFS and the governance wars might be relatively peripheral - probably had some effect when you put all that stuff together.
But sure. Corica’s made plenty of boneheaded errors that can’t really be attributed to any of those things, I get that.
When COVID hit, and the salary cap was cut from $2.9m to $2.0m overnight, we had 2 championships and 2 premierships within 3 seasons, and were on the way to our 3rd of each.
City hadn’t won shit.
The relative salary cap pressures are incomparable.

Of course it didnt effect every club the same way.
But it’s nonsensical to ignore that we’ve come out of it in worse shape than other clubs.
Could that be because Corica is a good assistant coach and merely an adequate head coach?
Your position on covid suggests that it was a factor for us but appears to imply that other clubs weren’t effected. Its another disingenuous suggestion from the Bimbi forever crowd.

Are you absolving Corica of responsibility for signing that squad?
He brought back Bobo and Alfie, brought in a replacement for Ninkovic he barely used, has let Wilkinson reach post pension age with no clear line of succession and handed an aging, declining goalkeeper a three year extension.
Whose fault is the age of the squad? If the quick timimg of the games is an issue, why did Corica not address this with younger, fitter players in tje two seasons that Covid has effected the league?
