Was playing regularly in MLS before moving back to Red Star, was in and out until he got injured around the new year, and was still reportedly coming back from injury as of Sep/Oct.
Interestingly he missed two months with an Achilles issue shortly before the move back to Serbia and then missed most of a year with a Heel issue six months later. Could be that the two were related and the long recovery has fixed it, or that his feet are just fucked for good?
Does anyone rate Lachie Jackson? Now a free agent. Tall, good in the air, seems to be good with the ball at his feet, not sure about his speed though, and if Uffie ends up playing a high line, centre backs with a bit of speed about them are probably going to be crucial.
Yeah I’d take Jackson. Hopefully a better player after a few years in Korea. He’d be a bit if experience the backline needs and around his peak years. Though transfermarkt says hes got an unknown injury.
Well if thats the case then serious questions need to be asked as to why the club allocated such a small part of the cap to our defence. Defence wins championships and if we’ve unbalanced the squad for too many attackers, then it needs calling out.
i dont think its a cap thing because there were rumours before we loaned poppa that we were signing bailey wright. think the money is there for a cb but it has to be an aussie
Man, I never thought I’d see the day people here would be hoping for Lachlan Jackson to join us. It goes to show how far he’s obviously come, from being frankly an almost NPL1-level defender at Newcastle to playing 80 league games over 4 years for Suwon.
Talay made vague comments about wanting to keep him in a recent post match interview, they didn’t sound at all definitive though. I would read more into the fact he has been found nowhere near the starting lineup in recent weeks more indicative than the article above or anything else. I’m glad that if he stays he’s now way down in the pecking order.
