Asian Champions League general discussion

Now why couldn’t have we received a group like that?

I think City under Kisnorbo would top that group easily with room to spare. Under Vidosic, it’ll still be failure if they don’t get through,

Macarthur’s group is easier than the Mariners group, but I can’t see them as the pub team they currently are doing much other then embarrassing us on the national stage,

This is from 2022.

You were saying?

Ah you have to love the Saudis.

Slap on the wrists, just give us a couple hundred mil.

didnt realise how crazy that was. They’re accusing the Saudi Clubs on being the reason why they’re allowing 5 foreigners in the ACL this year hahahaha

Sorry why is a J2 team in there?

They won the Emperor’s Cup (similar scenario to if an NPL team won the Aus Cup)

FC Tokyo qualified the same way in 2012, they won Emperor’s Cup while also being in J2. They then went on to put Roarcelona to death in the opening game of the ACL.

Absolutely nobody in AAMI Park today, very very low turnout.

Not much better in Jeonbuk though…the Koreans care about ACL less than we do.

Kitchee equalise against Jeonbuk with one hell of a goal. Overhead kick from basically the angle of the goal line somehow found its way directly in.

Some great results for the health of football in this side of AFC last night.

Lion City Sailors (Singapore) beat Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 2-0

Buriram (Thailand) beat Melbourne City 1-0

Johor Darul Ta’zim (Malaysia) beat Ulsan Hyundai 2-1

Great to see Thai, Singaporean, Malaysian teams getting a chance at this competition and actually looking like they belong.

So neither Benzema nor Ronaldo were able to find the net for their respective arms of the Saudi Sportswashing Octopus in this morning matches.

They’ll probably cry themselves to sleep tonight. On their huge piles of money.

The more money they can squeeze out of those grubs with the less net return on terms of prestige and silverware, the happier I will be.
Forza East Asia farken!
