Yep, Japan can no longer finish top of their group and will play South Korea in the round of 16 if Korea tops theirs.

The West Asian teams are really sticking it to the East Asian teams so far.
China lost overnight, putting their chances of qualifying in serious jeopardy.
China is almost certainly out. Groups D and E already have 3 teams with more points. Oman in Group F plays against Kyrgyzstan, and either somebody wins such that 3rd has more points or they draw and Oman is ahead of China on goals scored.
So best China can finish is the 4th best 3rd placed team. That requires:
- Hong Kong vs Palestine draw, and China finishes ahead of Palestine on Goal Difference. Any other result and the winner is ahead of China. AND
- Syria vs India draw. Any other result and the winner is ahead of China. It needs to be a scoreless draw, otherwise Syria moves ahead of China. Syria also needs to give up one yellow card (and have China win the drawing of lots) or more (China goes ahead of Syria outright on the discipline tie breaker).

This is currently the state of the game. They’re completely tied on all tie breakers with 15 minutes to go. Please have Hong Kong v Palestine draw and give us a drawing of lots!!

Palestine unlucky not to finish 2nd in their group, but it looks like they’ve knocked China out of best 3rd place and now await Indonesia’s game against Iraq.
Actually, Palestine might have qualified as one of the best 3rd place just a matter of whether they play Australia or not…?

My understanding is that if Indo make the cut of best 3rds, we play them.
If not, we play Palestine.

Surely it’s Palestine.
You’d expect Oman to beat Kyrgyzstan, and Bahrain should feel fairly comfortable about their position compared to Indonesia going into the Jordan game - already equal on points, ahead by 2 GD, behind by 1 goal, 4 fewer yellow cards.
