They must have thrown silly money at her

I was going to ask why she’d go to United to sit on the bench behind Mary Earps, but Earps has gone to PSG, so this is a weird move.

This article by Sam Lewis sheds some light on the situation.
It appears that a move to Man United may not have been the best thing for her.

I didn’t realise how much the NWSL has grown recently. The current average attendance this season is 11,215 and it’s got a 14 team 26 round season.

Matt Ryan continues his excellent adventure of pulling up at terrific places to live, but as backup once again, is that a problem for the Socceroos?

That would depend on how much game time Joe Gauci and Tom Glover see as that would push Mat Ryan on to some extent.

Match fitness for a goalkeeper is a lot less important than it is for an outfield player though. The training that they do is far more intense than anything that they face in a game situation.

He’s also an injury to Mile Svilar away from being the #1 for a team in one of the best leagues in the world. Zeljko Kalac did alright at AC Milan in a similar situation.

Did Kalac do well? When he had to play a game for the Socceroos it was a complete disaster letting in a sloppy goal probably because he had no game time

Totally get the appeal for Ryan. Gets to potentially play in a third big league following EPL and La Liga, gets to live in Rome and probably pays well.

But hes spent a huge chunk of recent seasons as a #2 and finally just got back to being a #1.

He did alright from a longevity perspective however when the time came when he had to replace Dida for a significant period of time no one seriously thought he was first team material.

Mariners fans are sad.

[Yokohama Express] Manager Harry Kewell sacked. The cause of this was largely due to grades, but that’s not all. http://ift.tt/UgFT5o1

They could handle losses, Ange lost a bunch in his first year. I think his attitude is what will have done it.

John Hutchinson in as interim manager

Whats with the obsession with Australians?

In this case it is just because Hutchinson was Kewell’s assistant manager and has stepped in for now. I can’t see him getting the job, I don’t think he has ever been a manager anywhere before yet? I can’t see a club the size of F. Marinos giving a beginner coach a fulltime job.

If we’re palying semantics Hutchinson is a Maltese international.

He had head coach gigs for Seattle Sounders 2 (34 games, 6 wins, 7 draws, 21 losses) in 2018 and for El Paso Locomotive (35 games, 13 wins, 7 draws, 15 losses) in 2022.

Hes had a lot of decent assistant roles including Yokohama F Marinos (now and back in 2021), Yokohama FC, Seattle Sounders, Central Coast Mariners and Western United. Imagine he’ll want to make the step up again even if neither head coach gig was that good.

Bro. John Hutchinson is Maltese in the same way Max Burgess is a Cook Islander.

FiFA says he’s Maltese!

Today I feel Maltese.
