Australian National Team Thread - #PopaOut!

Ref is a fucking moron too.

So many Aussie kids in the crowd. I can only assume their parebts are working over in the UAE.

Mitchell Duke crashing over the try line to score our second…

I cant help but feel we’re going to get shown up when we play one of the big teams. Saudi it seems like are up first.

Japan and South Korea also out-class us considerably.

We should be getting to the Quarter Final as a minimum, but honestly I think that anything beyond that would be a good achievement. If we somehow get past the Saudis, we’ll probably have to face either Japan or Qatar.

If we beat India and Syria, and the other groups are playing out as expected, do we throw the Uzbekistan game to get second a la 2018 England?

Winner gets 3rd A/C/D then Saudi QF and Japan SF.

Runner up gets 2nd F and (Thailand?) then Qatar QF then Korea SF.

I don’t know if it makes that much of a difference. Qatar are going to be tough opponents as the hosts.

Just like the world cup!

Yeah I’ll take a home Qatar over Saudi any day.

I was reading the Saudis are in poor form and are a bit of a shambles at the moment. They may not be as strong as they were in the qualifying campaign.

Chairman Brosque.

Supreme Leader Brosque.

See avatar.

I’ve been trying the banter on all week with the Indian lads at work. Alas none of them knew there was a match on this Saturday

Probably thought you were getting mixed up with their two T20 matches against Afghanistan on Friday and Monday.

That, or your banter’s just shit. :joy:

Banter only works for cricket. I just rolled into Quaker’s Hill the day after the cricket World Cup final with a yellow shirt on, and the salty looks from some of the locals were delicious. I didn’t even have to say anything.

Looks like it won’t be an issue for the rest of the European season now…

Robertson done for the year with an injury picked up at training with Portsmouth.

Play up Pompey, play up …
