With Ange we’d continually wait for the perfect through ball with no one running on, Juric is more a target guy, so the midfielders didn’t shoot.
With Arnie, the midfielders are shooting all night and not really looking for the running striker on the through ball, ironically we actually have one in Mclaren.

Couldn’t agree more. Saw at least one instance where Rogic shunned the through ball for an outside box shot. Will take a while to adjust it seems.
Mabil showed in his short run off the bench he should be starting. Put quality balls in the box and looked dangerous. He also isnt an impact player like Arzani genuinely was. I know hes been an easy target, but that had to be Kruse’s last chance. Hes just not up to it at all. When he was at his peak around 2012 he wasn’t doing much for us then, so why persist now?
Hes not carving it up in B2 at all, I know it’s a solid league but after Mabil I’d even look at Goodwin in form here and Dimi if Jets start to look better. I’ve watched Hibs quite a bit this season and while he’s far from perfect, Boyle has confidence and takes players on, and is always very hard to win the ball against and great in the contest. Oh and he can finish, the complete opposite of Kruse.
Robbie has to just be a total fringe squad player now. He lacks so much to start for a national team.
Also the Sainsbury love needs to stop. Milligan and Degenek should be our first choice til Trent starts playing regularly. I can cop Behich playing limited minutes, hes shown his class and what he can do. But I cant cop a CB not playing week in week out.
Will need to rewatch with less booze but thought Sainsbury was fine apart from getting caught on the goal?
Maclaren should be persisted with IMO. What is that, his 2nd start?

Seriously, Kruse has to be done. It was nothing we didn’t already know, but with Mabil in such red hot form and having an immediate impact, he needs to start.

Yeah we have to persist with Maclaren. If not him then who? I mean I’d love to see Taggart get a run after the Asian Cup but I can’t think of anyone else.
Ryan, Mooy and Rogic are all set to be rested for Tuesday’s game.
To replace them I’d like to see Vukovic, Amini and Irvine respectively.
Sainsbury criticism is justified. Before he went to China, he had a really good European career ahead of him but he took the money and you can see the effects now once he was suddenly frozen out of Jiangsu’s first team. Last night he was rather sluggish, was careless in possession and for the goal the scorer lost him way too easily from a pretty much nothing ball.
I’d be very interested to see what kind of line-up we could put out that would be purely comprising of the best Aussies currently starting for their clubs regularly. Mabil would absolutely have to be one of the wingers to start.

Mabil put three balls into the area, took two shots, and completed seven of his eight passes. While the man he replaced, Robbie Kruse, played 20 more minutes than him, and managed to only complete four of seven passes and didn’t produce a single ball into the box.
With Rogic and mooy rested I agree that hopefully amini amd Irvine get a start as well.

Great to see Boyle and Mabil getting a start too. This is a great chance to blood some young players and it is good to see Arnie doing that before the next qualifying campaign starts.
Thrilled for Grant. Excited for Mabil and Boyle starting but I would have kept MacLaren up top. Keen also to see Amini though feel sorry for Jeggo making yet another squad but not getting a minute.
I like this team better than Saturdays.
