Beautiful strike

Harper dribbling on about fuck all spoils it for me

Very happy with that performance all up, given that these guys haven’t played together in a long while we played like a unit and had enough individual quality to finish things off.

I always enjoy watching Irvine and thought he had a good game, I’ll be keen to see more of him over this fortnight.

Also good to get a couple of debuts out there.

Surprised Duke got on, he’s done nothing for months.

Still filthy about Redders, clearly 4th choice and doesn’t even make the bench.

How did Karacic go?

Hard to tell. Kuwait wasn’t great.

He was fine I think, not as marauding as Grant but did well when called on. He just wasn’t called on very often. Behich was providing a lot more width of the two full backs.

After the Kuwait win, Australia in FIFA rankings is in 39th position.

Bloody hell it was good to have the boys back on the pitch after nearly two years. Game played in nearly 40 degree heat on a shitty pitch in the Middle East to a crowd of no one … it’s like nothing’s changed in the world.

Perfect prep for an abomination of a world cup

I don’t think Chinese Taipei are quite up to this level.

Lots of dud teams in this round, Taiwan included.

Japan’s group is like men beating up little children.

Do you think GA will give a game to each keeper?

Definitely Redmayne next game and Ryan for the Jordan game.

I’ve seen CDSFA pitches with less bobble than this one.

15 years ago today. Everyone in this shot looks ecstatic, but I was a fucking wreck. Great day out in K-Town.

What a day.

I’ve got a framed print hanging on my wall of the front page photo of the smh the next day of cahill’s second where you can see where me and my partner are in the stands (surrounded by the Japanese fans as I guess our tickets were returns that their federation didn’t sell).

Combination of jetlag, that stupid hill to get to the stadium, 80 minutes of wondering if I’d just spent 10k on my 6 week holiday only to have it ruined by a dodgy as fuck goal on the second day of the trip… then perhaps the greatest 10 minutes ever. I do struggle with whether that or the Uruguay game is the best sporting experience I’ve ever had.

Extremely glad to have been in the stadiums for both.
