That was a hell of a ride by Pogacar…

I don’t think that Vingegaard would have been much closer to him even if he came in fully fit.
Pog is in freak mode right now.

This should be a brilliant read as it pans out.

I don’t mind this commentary trio of Gerrans, Docker and Renshaw.
It does lack the guidance that Matt Keenan provides but it feels a lot more honest. They’re just calling it as they see it rather than as colour commentators.

The Vuelta has been a hell of a race so far and all indications are this is going to be one of the best races of the season. BOC’s time buffer balanced against his demonstrated weakness on punchy climbs has made for some hectic racing on days that should otherwise be fairly boring.

Personally I don’t see him holding on. Many of the upcoming GC stages should suit him more (longer climbs) but the steep pinches in them should assist Roglic to pull back enough time that he can win it in the TT, if not before. That said, Roglic had a bit of a wobble on the long climbs in Andalusia so who knows?

If I were BOC, I’d also be really worried about Mas, who is having a great race and has certainly been the most consistent climber so far.

Watching the world championships at the moment.

Since I found out that I can’t run anymore I’ve been getting back into cycling.

Going to get a new bike and start again.

Sold my bike a few years ago ago and was running full-time.

Should be back on a bike some time in the new year.

I’m realising quickly that most of the top pros that were around when I was last into cycling are almost all gone.

The Australian team seems like one of the strongest I can remember.

Great finish by Ben O’Connor, pogacar is clearly one of the best ever.
I wonder how long he keeps going for? He doesn’t have much left to do.

Maybe winning all the classics, tours and world championship next year and retiring?

We have a really good history of world tour cyclists from Perth, but I have no idea how they are so good in the mountains, we don’t have any bloody mountains here. Our tallest part of the city we just call the hills, cause it’s the only hills anywhere :rofl:

This is Pogacar’s first season where he isn’t eligible for the white jersey classification.
He’s got plenty of years left yet.

I can’t see him retiring without doing a Paris-Roubaix. He’d need to put on a bit of weight though so would come at a cost to his GC chances in the GT’s.

Yeah I feel like Paris Roubaix is something he’ll try but not be able to pull it out. His bike handling skills should be a big boon though.

His real next target should be MSR though, with these big solo efforts if he can make separation he’d be a decent shout of staying away. He’s already come close before and he clearly wants it

Yeah, I think he wants to win everything and will try to find a way to do it.
His team would be mad to not try and accommodate it.
