And having achieved everything he had set out to achieve, Bimbi returned home to Innisfail to farm Cassowaries.
My family & I will eat anything. I’m on board with this career move.
" Overall, we finished in fifth on the ladder, which is not where we expect to be, however we showed great form in the back half of the season. Our Men have improved year-on-year and the emergence of some exciting young stars definitely bodes well for our future.
At the end of every season we conduct a thorough review of both the Men’s and Women’s campaigns and we intend to do begin that process in the next few days as we prepare for the 2023-24 season.
To those players who will be leaving the club in the off-season, I’d like to thank you for your efforts and wish you all the best for the future. "

Man, this guy is really doing his best to lower the fan’s expectations and standards isnt he? It absolutely disgusts me that the standards of this football club have gradually fallen into the toilet. A season like this shouldn’t be acceptable to the board.
2010/11-2013/14 then 2015/16
Must be nice to be a small town club like the Mariners who does abysmally the majority of their seasons, with sub 10k attendance and dwindling active, then when it does have a good season and sells out a game for the first time ever in a 20k stadium, with resurgent active, gets praise for its “culture”.
This is a Sydney FC forum. If Mariners fans choose to be on it, they have to accept a Sydney FC fan POV. Especially a Mariners fans who is a SYDNEYSIDER. (If I choose to support Celtic, it doesn’t make me an Irish-Catholic.)
I’m not criticising the Mariners for their record or crowd numbers. I understand they’re a less funded club from a smaller area. I just find it interesting that we have two poor seasons since 2016/17, despite many poor ones before then, and our “club is in the toilet”, yet Mariners have a season of success and they’re a triumph of culture. I accept this attitude from people who hate us, not from our own.
But you know, I was criticised by Mariners fans for not supporting their attempt to move to northern Sydney, despite the fact that none of them wanted the move either. Just because I was a Sydney FC fan giving my opinion, it was suddenly irrelevant.
Bring back Arnie already, I’m sure he can do both jobs with a decent assistant. The Socceroos job is hardly fulltime
They’re a third rate Aleague club.
They need this narrative to give themselves some sense of legitimacy - no matter how counter-factual it may be.
Let them have it.
It’s better than the Melbourne City narrative.
I accept your POV. I just think you should smile a bit more. Your posts are very angry.
Agree with this take completely fwiw. People have short memories or there is something else at play.
That is really amusing. I was ripped a new one by Mariners’ fans for supporting having games at NSO.
Maybe if you count the number of Socceroos who were given their start in the A-league by Mariners you may change your position.
All of the original A-League teams from the first season have their place, even if Melbourne Victory are a disease of the soul. Adelaide, Central Coast, Newcastle, Perth, I don’t begrudge any of them having a good run, or winning a championship if they can. I’m still not over the stupid “Roarcelona” thing so Brisbane can keep being crap a while longer.
Central Coast winning this year would be great for everyone.
That does absolutely nothing for me.
But good luck with all that.
You can have “Mariner/Socceroo” Jason Cummings.
Don’t think it does much for us tbh, but sure they get a kind of pity follow.
Would be way more interesting for the comp than City winning it. It has “narrative” written all over it.
I just want the Mariners to win for the group seeth for the non-NSW people really. No grand “good for the game” stuff here, just pure spite.
I’d like mariners to win and also for spiteful reasons. CFG are a stain on the spirit of football and I wish them nothing but bad things and my hate.
Unrelated, we’re a lovely bunch around here!
