Whilst it sucks on a supporter level, can completely understand the move. Bar a stint at Grenoble, he never really had any stretch of regular games anywhere. Makes sense to come back to a familiar environment and reset. Just a shame that it wasnt Jets or Mariners or Macarthur
Well he’s got to fight Jack Clisby for a spot on the left. Really that should be an improvement for them. If it isn’t, Gersbach doesn’t have many options in the league to fall back to.
Perth have signed a couple of Japanese defenders, Yuto Misao and Takuya Okamoto, for 6 months with an option to extend.
Both have extensive J1 experience and should be good signings.
They’ve certainly looked a lot better these last couple of games. Certainly not leaking as many goals since Marcela came in.
A back 4 of Risdon, Marcela and the 2 Japanese guys looks quite good.
Taggart looks a lot more invested than he was at the start of the season as well. Put Pat Wood next to him to do the running then Zdrilla certainly has something to work with over there.
It’s night and day, on paper at least, compared to the Hamzaoui/Caicedo signings. Makes you wonder how those two even happened? Presumably Lazaridis signings vs Zdrilić signigns?
I wonder if it had something to do with the ownership change? Funds not available yet or backroom changes not fully in effect?
Lachy Wales and the 2 Japanese guys are a complete 180 from WSW squaddies and South American journeymen.
Throw in a couple of the young local guys Zdrilla’s given playing time to and they’re not looking all that bad.
It’s a weird one. He definitely had enough time to sign players, but then in saying that, they’d already made 9 signings by the time he started. He was only really able to sign 3 international players and that’s really it
Watched a few Perth games, ive always thought they played football well, you could see what they where trying to do its just there skill let them down, with these new players as long as they buy into the system it will be night and day,
