New Travel Thread - everyone gets a upgrade

Just booked Wellington away.
Can’t wait to experience some of that famous Kiwi summer weather. Looks like it’s going to be a balmy 17 degrees.

Can’t imagine too many others are making the trek over but I’ve got a week off and it’s cheaper than going just about anywhere here at the moment.
A room at the Double Tree is cheaper than a cabin at Evans Head at the moment.

I’ll see you there, but really it’s a terrible, terrible away game. Just ask @Hybrid .

17 degrees and windy. Wellington weatherman has the easiest job in the world.

and this is why people shouldn’t go…

I concur it’s an absolutely terrible trip, been telling anyone who will listen for years, and am unlikely to have a tear in the eye come Wednesday.

Next year I’ll subject myself to it once more.

Wellington has some cracking bars. We were treated to a night out after a Mariners game by Steve Lynne, who was (still is?) the Yellow Fever away team liaison. Was a very enjoyable Saturday night with cool bars and excellent craft beer at some.

I’ve only heard bad things.

I’m planning on staying in my hotel until 30 minutes before kick off and returning at full time if not earlier, pending result.

That is a solid plan.
