I don’t really agree, I often hear them say things like “I’m not sure if we have it on camera, but (insert coach name) is blowing up about that decision” etc.

That’s how it should be from good commentators, but almost every week you’ll hear these Fox boffins question if someone got booked or if the flag has gone up because they’re looking at the monitor and not out the window. Then there’s the regular break in reporting the action to talk about the manager or substitute who just happens to be on screen etc
I don’t disagree that some are lazy, but it has to be better having them at the game.

Nah. I tend to tune them out. But I’m not great at it.
Not to mention that despite actually playing in the NSL for some time, and working with Fox for several years, that he doesn’t know the rules of the sport, and admitted as much on air during one game. Complete embarrassment.
