I don’t think that R.Grant at CB is inherently a bad thing. I agree that his best days at RB are long behind him and that any future he has could well be at CB.
In particular, our playing out with him there has been much better than before he moved there.
The issue is that our other options at RB are truly terrible. I am convinced that the same back four shifted one spot over to the right, with King wrapping around to LB, would be far more effective going forward and defensively.

Yep, we used to be shit but entertaining. Now we’re shit and boring.
Plenty of endeavour but really not enough quality where it matters. Klimala doesn’t seem to be in the right positions nearly often enough. He often uses a lot of energy to eventually run offside, then doesn’t have the energy to get on the end of a cross. Its not all his fault but it does render him ineffective most of the time.
I’m obviously watching a different match
- looked fairly untroubled at the back.
- costa is touching the ball loads and looks a different class
- klimala showing he actually gives a shit
- Kurto being forced into one of the saves of the season
- HDM hasn’t fucked up yet
