Very very disappointing first half. Auckland just all over us and we can’t get anything going. This has to change in the second half and fucking quick. Losing Lolley is a dagger blow, strange decision bringing Patty on instead of JK or Seggy.

I can’t believe Wood gets a run in front of anyone, he offers so little except for effort.
But yeah bad half, no Lolley or Costa is tough, rest of the guys look tired unsurprisingly.
The biggest threat to trophies this season will be red cards and injuries and we’re not off to a good start injury wise.
To be premiers we’ll have to figure out a way to get points from games like this so let’s see what happens.

We’re going to need a couple to win this. We need to get it on klimala’s head or at is feet early.
See what happens in the second half. They seemed pretty intense for 45 minutes, and we’ve seen that before where a team comes at us for a half and then cant sustain it much past 50-55 minutes.
They’ve been pretty quick to get the ball out to their wingers, getting in behind Grant in particular.
I thought we have been ok, but just still not putting it together in front third. Either trying to play straight ball through a crowded box, or not quick enough to get the ball to Klimala when he makes a run off the shoulder.

I reckon the wind has helped them, sitting at the stadium and it’s blowing pretty strong towards the half they were attacking.
You sure? Redders goal kicks were going well into their half. That and our corner flags were being bent towards the Auckland goal. Maybe swirling, but on the broadcast it definitely looked in our favour.
I’m disappointed we haven’t seen any squad rotation, aside from Costa.
We knew this month and the next few weeks are going to be heavy on the team with travel abd matches every few days. If we want to compete for silverware this season we need to make sure our foreign quota is used sensibly. We could be looking at zlolley up to 3-4 weeks if he has done his groin, and hopefully Costa is precautionary.
It’s worry if Talay doesn’t believe we don’t have the depth to rotate players every couple of weeks.
We started well, but struggled once Lolley went off.
Our defensive fragility is being shown very early on. It’s all good and well to have desperate last ditch defending, but to what extent?
They’re already boring and annoying, like a Kiwi version of the Shed but without the charm.
