Last week not 1 shot in the second half, We spend 90% pussing around playing tidly winks at the back every week hence we don’t score and shoot on target
Just finished watching the game. So typical of us over the last two years. Dominant in so many ways with no final ball in and no end product.
In the recent past it feels like we’ve played significantly worse when Brattan isn’t available. Last night we looked so much worse because Burgess isn’t available. There was just no one willing to put a killer ball in, and so we just kept sending it wide for crosses that would either end up at the CB or were easy claims for the keeper.
Brattan also had a pretty rubbish first half which didn’t help our distribution.
Should I spend 6 hours + driving up to Sydney and home again? like i normally do , to see us serve up this rubbish again next weekend ?
At least our youth, severely depleted, beat the CCM academy 3-1 in NPL.
Unfortunately I didn’t go to Valentine because it was originally slated for a 3pm kick-off, clashing with both the end of the Eden Park game and the Kings. Turns out it kicked off at 7pm and could’ve made it easily.

All season, the majority of teams have just sat back and absorbed everything we throw at them. We just can’t seem to find a way to goal while teams sit back and flood the area with defenders. It really makes for frustratingly, boring football.
Unfortunately the blue print has been published and proven time and time again. I’ve been optimistic and patient that the squad will turn a corner but I’m starting to think that this isn’t a squad issue any more.

Although we conceded early, we had 80 mins to salvage something from the game but couldn’t. Against a team of journeymen, who were simply better coached. we had no answers and no leadership on/off the field to effect the game positively.
We could easily still ‘Bradbury’ our way into the GF given how inconsistent most other teams are, but a new coach with fresh ideas is definitely needed for next season.
The frothing over the Syydney conspiracy would be more delicious than a Frango’s meal. Especially if we jammy a win.

It is always difficult to play against a team that parks the bus. There really isn’t much you can do to adjust tactics.
The only thing we could do to counter these tactics is do the same thing and make teams come at us.
Look all over the world you see good teams lose all the time against the bus. It’s a safe tactic that gets consistent results but just boring.
Best moment of the match was the shirts off in the Nux and there was a nice lass with a yellow bra that the camera did a second 
scan the horizons rather than have us go back to empty possession.

Watching tits out whilst we go tits up.
Disappointing loss that. We really lack a regular striker who can consistently put the ball in the back of the net. Lolley was ok in the first few weeks. Recently it seemed Alf had gotten his form back and then he got injured. Burgess got a couple on the trot. none of it seems to be able to last longer than a few games though.
Caceras was his usual frustrating self. He’s the one supposed to be unlocking the defence and setting up our attack. But you can’t do that with forwards and backwards passes, holding the ball up on the break. If a team is parking the bus you don’t get many chances to hit on the break and you gotta take ‘em. Not hold the ball up so the defence catches up and gets into position.

It’s never been a squad issue. It’s a Corica issue. I’ve personally always felt that was have the players to play a completely different style. This dullard soul sucking sidewards & backwards nonsense I consider to be cowardly football. We can do better.
Stanton was a sub par player & NPL coach, how he got this A League gig is a mystery for the ages.
