Six goals in two games and only a single point.
Not often that happens.
Couldn’t get my VPN working in an airline lounge at Singapore, so was relying on this thread. Left to the gate at 70min and almost missed it as there had been a gate change. Very surprised to see the score when we got airborne. Sadly not enough bandwidth to watch the highlights.
Yeah, I thought it was tense seeing the pundits almost goading Uffy into admitting his tactics might have something to do with it… it was like any moment I was expecting Uffy to just burst out: “You want the truth! You can’t handle the truth!” And storm off
I have no problem with Costa and Lolley not helping out in defence, Ouahim either for that matter.
Along with Klimala, those 4 can lead the press from the front but if the 6 guys behind them can’t deal with the defensive stuff then they shouldn’t be there.
If we keep our back 4 goal side of their attackers and play a proper 6 next to Sena rather than a turnstile then we will be fine.
I just don’t know how someone who played in the middle of the park for their entire career can set up a team the way Talay has.
Having seen the highlights, just wow from Popovic on their first and third goals. Matthews should be replacing him for next weekend’s game, no question about it. Obviously HDM was put under a lot more pressure than in the ACL2 games he played in, because there was some pretty average keeping for a couple of those goals.
Nailed it. We’ve kept less clean sheets than Bonnie Blue, just 1 in 15 this season, and that was our first home ACL2 game against Kaya.
It’s surely time we sit deeper and more compact to deny opponents space and protect that shaky back 4. A dour 0-0 could be a building block for the rest of the season. Only I reckon Ouahim, Lolley and Klimala would do serious damage if we were on the counter for a change. Need to rope a dope someone into having more of the ball than us.
I’m watching the second half now because I couldn’t yesterday and yeah that second goal was saveable. He made himself big but didn’t cover the goal fully despite being in the attacker’s face. That said at this point I’m not sure Redmayne would have done much better so who knows. He was primarily let down by his defenders this game. He was definitely improved with the ball playing out compared to last time so that was good to see.
Someone raised it last time but the Lolley on the left thing that Uffy is trying is giving me the shits. He’s having to put in many more shots and crosses with his right which is just minimising his usefulness.
