Squad Speculation Thread 2021/22

Possible, but as Jubal says above this could all be part of the rebuilding effort. In which case, and I hate to say this, we may be looking at someone to take Milos’ wide role next season.

Also the injury and lack of game time poses a risk but it looks like he’s only signed for six months so hopefully it’s a fairly low risk.

He signed a 4 year deal end of last season, he’s here long haul

If we’ve learned anything about football contracts over the last 15+ years of the A-League, it’s that they are ultimately meaningless if the right suitor comes calling.

As long as he has a release clause then it could be a nice piece of business

Or another Sport?

Wow, we are big time now! A Mino Raiola player.

Well if he is on a 4 year contract, we’ll get a decent transfer fee for him. With so long left on his deal, you’d be expecting 7 figures no less.

That assumes there’s no release clause

Yeah the contracts are more complicated than just a number of years.

That said - i think this is jumping to conclusions.

Well hopefully the club don’t do what I do in FM and forget to check release classes when re-signing players. I’ve let too many quality players go for ridiculous low sums in too many of my saves.

Jesus it hadn’t really dawned on me just how many we’re finishing up this season…

Yes why would we sign any foreigner on the basis of what you just said?

Today we signed one, 15 days later

Haha, yeah that’s one of those posts that didn’t age well… In the following days almost every club on the league went on to sign a foreigner!

But it’s good. The league needed an injection. Hopefully these visa players light it up.

Tbh though I’m pretty confused as to how we afford this guy, or why… kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

We have the Bratten money we can use. There’s no need for the replacement player to be like for like anymore unlike in the earlier years of the competition.

As for why we’ve signed him, I see him being an ACL signing. I highly doubt Ninko and Bobo will be in the squad and there may be doubts over Kosta so our depth across the front 4 wouldn’t be that strong.

So you’re happy now? Thank fuck for that. Yeah, looks like I was wrong, but I’d rather be wrong now and again than a permanently whiny cunt.

They will be like-for-like in the sense that they will both be bipedal hominids, unless the rules have been further relaxed in which case I think we should sign a defensively minded Jaguar in time for the derby. I want to see how he matches up with Troisi.

Transfermarkt has him contracted till the end of the season.

Wasnt Amini Brattans injury replacement?
