didn’t see whole game but Victory had like 4-5 solid chances to win that game in extra time alone.

I tend to agree it shouldn’t have been a corner. We used up an enormous amount of luck holding out for so long, though. Brave effort from the women, but it wasn’t to be.

I’d be surprised if Cooney-Cross isn’t picked up by a decent European club in the next 12 months. She’s a real talent.

That was basically the whole game. Last ditch stuff from Whyman and Tobin keeping us in it but we were incredibly disjointed in attack and made few chances.

So many parallels with last night’s City game.

  • unable to put away the few chances we had
  • huge defensive effort by the backs
  • a number of world class saves by the keeper
  • lost the middle of the park with 10-15mins left to go
  • kept coughing up possession as a result
  • luck finally runs out in the dying seconds

Such a shame for the girls to go out like, after such a valiant effort, and the season they had.
