2018-19 SFCU Player of the Season (Results coming soon...)

Just bumping this for those who might’ve missed it in the delirium

Here it is, last one of the season. Get involved

Recent results:

Unsurprisingly, not many votes came through for the away loss to Ulsan Hyundai. But not even 11 voters could agree on who to give their points to: only 7 of them thought MOTM Michael Zullo was worthy of any. It was his first MOTM of the season, and the 4th of his SFC career.

We had a much better turnout for the semi-final vs Melbourne, but the votes were widely spread again (albeit probably for a different reason!): 8 of the 21 voters decided to give 1 point each to six different players. In the end it was Alex Brosque who won MOTM, his 4th for the season and the 14th of his SFC career.

Reminder to please vote for the last two matches of the season, especially last night’s loss to Kawasaki, which has a very sad looking tally so far. The player of the season has still yet to be decided, so every vote counts!

Grand Final result – Andrew Redmayne stood tall as the voters of SFCU dinked the MOTM straight into his waiting hands. He picked up points from 23 of the 25 voters, and ended up with the 4th-most dominant performance of the season (average of 2.72 votes per voter).

After not getting a single MOTM in his 40 appearances before this season, it is his 8th win for 2018-19. This surpasses Vuka’s 2016-17 effort (7 MOTMs) and lies behind only Vedran in 2013-14 (10) for the most in a season by a goalkeeper.

Voting is still open for the final match of the season:

As usual, the Player of the Season and the full results will be revealed after the SFCU end-of-season event.

There were five debutants in the last match of the season, and one of them — Tom Heward-Belle — took out the MOTM. He’s the eight player to win MOTM on their Sydney FC debut, four of which were this season alone (De Silva, Le Fondre and Ghoochannejhad being the others).

Added to Andrew Redmayne’s table-topping tally, the result meant that a goalkeeper took out MOTM in 9 of Sydney’s 40 competitive matches in 2018–19.

Thanks as always to everyone who voted. Full results will be available after the SFCU end of season event.

Still no-one. But given that there are only another 700-odd ways of ordering those 6 players, I better stop saying whether or not someone’s picked it
