In fairness you could have left most of the team off the list and we wouldn’t have noticed

vs Melbourne (and Brisbane too for the ultra masochists)
Recent results:
For the goalless draw in Wellington, el capitano Rhyan Grant rolled back the years to get his first MOTM (and his first points altogether) for the season. With the old man taking the 3 points, the remainder were shared amongst the youngsters, as his centre-half partner Hayden Matthews got on the board for the first time since our last trip across the ditch, and Corey Hollman and Adrian Segecic shared third place.
As decided at the start of the season, that Wellington game was the last time with the full top 3 revealed. From now on it will just be the MOTM of each match, to keep a bit of mystery about the Player of the Season. Here are the top 5 going into this period:
For the loss to Brisbane, Tiago Quintal got his second for the season. That makes it five substitute MOTMs this season, with Ouahim having done it twice and Segecic once, to go along with Quintal’s first against Macarthur.
Still time to vote for the Big Blue loss:
Quick note for the regular MOTM voters out there… I’ll be missing the game tonight due to a wedding so chances are voting won’t be up until later tonight or the morning.
If you prefer not to wait, you can always put your votes in this thread or PM them to me, and I’ll be sure to count them.
Sneaking into the bathroom to set it up… hopefully didn’t miss anyone
Most people sneak into the bathroom to do a line, Rowdy does it to set up MOTM voting.
Truly the best of us.
Por que no los dos
Have finally recovered enough to do the latest results.
The loss to Victory saw the votes thinly spread: Corey Hollman was MOTM despite only picking up 32 votes from the 30 voters, the lowest average for an MOTM this season. Second place was just 5 votes back, and it was very close for third, with a player on 18 votes followed by two players both on 17.
It is the first MOTM of Hollman’s 46-game Sydney FC career. He is the tenth different winner this season.
Still time to vote for the Adelaide game here:
Missing the game tonight and definitely won’t have voting up until tomorrow morning this time…
Again if you don’t want to wait, you can post your votes here or PM me directly
Don’t they have bathrooms where you are?
Just bumping for anyone who missed it last night.
And thanks to everyone who voted for Diego Costa, I have fixed that now
I was voting for Coooosta-urns
Klimala deserves something, if not just for the rev up
vs Bangkok (+ derby still open)
Result for the win over Adelaide:
Anas Ouahim got his sixth MOTM for the season, after a run of nine matches without one. The positions weren’t separated by much though, with Anas’ 48 votes followed by players on 39, 32, 26, 25 and 21.
Voting is still open for the 3-3 win over WSW and the 2-2 loss to Bangkok:
I see what you did there
Most recent results:
For the derby, it was Anthony Caceres who won MOTM to go with his late equaliser in his 200th appearance. It is his 3rd win for the season and the 17th of his Sydney FC career. The 2nd- and 3rd-place winners were clearly separated from the rest (the top 3 took 85% of the votes), but barely separated from one another (65 vs 64 votes).
Probably no surprise for the home draw with Bangkok, with Adrian Segecic getting a brace off the bench in his 50th Sydney FC appearance. It is his fourth MOTM for the season and the eighth of his career, with three of them having come as a sub (the most of any Sydney player).* There was a clear top 3 again here, as they took 86% of the votes.
* Remarkably, he has also been MOTM in 5 of his 18 starts, a hit rate of 28% which sits fourth in the all-time list behind only Adrian Mierzejewski (11/31 = 35%), Calem Nieuwenhof (3/9 = 33%) and Jason Culina(!) (2/6 = 33%).
Normally now I would spruik the open voting, but you’re going to have to wait a few hours — check back here after the Bangkok away game.
Thanks everyone who has voted!
