ACL MD4 - Shanghai SIPG vs Sydney FC - 23/04/19

Ulsan - 7 points
Shanghai - 4 points
Kawasaki - 3 points
Sydney FC - 2 points

A win here and a win for Ulsan over Kawasaki would give us a fair shout at qualifying. Ulsan might be inclined to take the pedal off the accelerator if that happened and we might find Kawasaki with nothing to play for in the last game.

Lots of ifs but there’s plenty to play for here.

The way things have been going for us in the ACL, we have a better chance of winning away than at home.

We’re going to get arse blasted, shanked and stomped on.

This absolutely does not feel like a game day.

Score predictions? I’m thinking we can snag a 2-1 win.

Worth noting no Zullo or Brosque tonight:

Corica has left behind injured pair Michael Zullo (hamstring) and Alex Brosque (bruised heel) but otherwise has a full-strength squad to pick from.

Am i the only person who wants us to lose and win the GF?

Yes. I’d much prefer we win every game we play.

We’re as good as out here. I know Bimbi was mentioning going full throttle here and resting against the Jets but Id prefer to give Ninkovic a chance to win the Johnny Warren.

Is that true though? We’re not that far behind second place.

If we can contain their Brazilians (mainly Oscar’s creativity) then there is no reason we cannot win this game. The Chinese players in their squad on the most part, would not look out of place playing for the Mariners.

I somehow was thinking we’d played 4 games so was looking at it thinking 2 wins from 2 needed and thats unlikely.

No reason not to give it a red hot go tonight, we’ll have a week off after the Newy game that means zilch.

It’s Ulsan away I’m worried about fucking up our home semi (and hopefully our first game out at Wankfest :+1: ).

We’re no chance without Zullo in this or any other fixture.

So focus on an unlikely ACL run at the expense of the GF?

Reza Ghoochannejhad at Sydney FC so far:

12 Games.
7 Starts
1 Goal
Scoreless in his last 8

Is a lack of a pre-season affecting his output or has he struggled to adapt to the A-League so far?

Maybe tonight is the night he turns his form around?

Kawasaki have scored early against ulsan, Which is not ideal

Tied up now

Unchanged line-up.

King on the bench is nice to see.

Same starting 11 as against perth

Ulsan up 2-1.
