ACL2 MD6 - Sydney FC vs Kaya FC - 5/12/24

Interested to see how De Jesus has developed over the last year.

They’ve really improved the production quality of youth team games!!

Simon hill just said 18 of this side came from our youth teams.

Not bad.

Midfield is losing the ball now and then but the defense is there to sweep it up. For now.

I like the confidence of putting double digits on the scoreboard

I dunno that holding mid is the best way to utilise Sega

It’s a simple extrapolation of the impact Quintal would make as a starter considering how he’s done as an 88th minute sub

How the fuck is that a foul against Quintal?

Yeah that was pretty weird.

It’s starting to get a bit more fluid now.

Pretty scattered performance so far and feels like maybe the young fellas are a bit over-eager?

Kucharski seems to be the most collected in the mid/forwards. Would be good to see Sega try to settle the ball usage in the middle.

Some of these guys would’ve played a lot of NPL together but a lot of them would also be well short of match fitness.

Amantidis needs to stop cutting inside. You’re playing against 5 at the back, there’s no space.

Right idea to look for the cut back to JK, just haven’t found the killer ball.

Yeah don’t think I rate Amanatidis

And as soon as I say that, they move to a back 4 :joy:

For a team that mostly played in the youth teams together, these guys sure are playing like they just met for an 11 a side pick up game.

Yes Seggy! :clap::clap::clap:

He’s frustrating as hell. Rocks and diamonds but waaaay more rocks than diamonds.

Good hit that one.

In an ideal world, we’re playing this game in the middle of their NPL season when the NPL kids are all match fit, but we’re not in that ideal world. Kamijo in particular looks super rusty, but to be fair as soon as I saw the lineup I thought it would be a pretty close game. So I’m not surprised.
