Indeed. To put it into context, the team they beat in the final has a Transfermarkt value of like 2.5m euros, about on par with Kaya FC and Eastern SC and you’d imagine a similar quality.
Fucking well done to the team. They aren’t perfect, but they really turned that around and beat a side that was overall much better.

Well, there were quite a few good players out there tonight, but in here it’s the highlights reel. Three or four comments in a row about how he beat a player and then Klimala scores. But the pass went to JCP, who beat a player and then put it to Klimala. Caceras worked his socks off, again. He doesn’t get mentioned. HDM got some mentions, but he kept us in the game. He doesn’t make that save just after half time, we would have folded. But no, Costa saved the day. FMD.

I disagree.
We still have the top Asian countries completing here. The the AFC cup there were no Japanese/South Korean teams.
ACL 2 is a step up from AFC cup

He’s won a lot in his career but he’s never won a continental trophy so I wonder if he’s keen to tick that off before he ends his career.

AFC Cup is more similar to the AFC Challenge League.

At minimum it seems like we’ll collect around 780k USD to this point if my research isn’t failing me (also assuming you collect as you pass go for each round?)
Runners up 1mil USD, winners at 2.5mil USD.
I’m not overly fussed for the domestic title but the double would be nice.

The top 3 in each region (so Saudi, UAE, Qatar, Japan, Korea, China (likely Thailand next year)) never got an entry to the Cup. Australia only got an entry last year as we dropped.
Under ACL2 each of the top 6 get one entry. Challenge though equally is a step down on the old Cup.
Sounds like I missed a pretty entertaining game. Any likelihood of a full match replay for this one?
