ACL2 - R16 2nd Leg - Bangkok United v Sydney Fc 19/2/2025

After failing to kill the game off last week, we have to win in Thailand to progress.

Will we see any changes to the starting XI? Will Sega be rewarded? Is costa 100%? Will Redders return?

No.

Geez I hope this translates properly, can’t believe I’d never done Dutch before either? Shocking.

De vochtigheid zal fungeren als smeermiddel wanneer het stokbrood de perzik binnendringt

I can’t believe Bangkok wants to play this at 11pm.

We’re going to get Durian Roti’d.

We have already got the stinky part, in fact we have had it most of the season

How about we just make it a fun game of HSB bingo:

  • Beaten at near post
  • Comes out of box and misses ball
  • Palms a cross back out right to defender for tap in
  • Makes good save after turning it over trying to play out from the back
  • Red card

I just realised this game starts at 11pm, the whole reason I watch domestic football is so that I don’t have to stay up

You can save your disappointment for when you rise in the morning

I actually like going to bed disappointed, so the new day dawns and it can start improving.

Timezones baby.

This generates quite enough disappointment already, thank you very much.

I’m using my excuse of needing to be awake at 4am to not catch this disappointment.

Knowing how we usually go in this time of game, it’ll probably go like;

We’re up 1-0 with 5 minutes to play.

Speculative 45m shot from a Bangkok player goes top corner.

We have 10 shots on target over the next 3 minutes and waste a few simple chances.

We get caught on the counter conceding a 90+4 winner.

We’re left to once again wonder what could have been.

Great prediction, but who gets hooked first? JCP or ZDJ?

ZDJ, gotta fit King at right back again

I got to drive to Chatswood (20 mins) for 6:30am. To pick up the ‘Boss’ after dropping off car for service and then go to work from there.

I’m not staying up for 11pm-1pm. But a 5:30am wake up to watch (Hopefully) highlights package of a 3-1 win to the good guys and a good start to the day.

Still have PTSD from that frightful night on Bangla Road…
