ALM - Elimination Final Discussion - 2025

We had under 14000 to our last finals match.

Against CCM, guarantee we would have got more against Victory. My point was more how embarrassing it was for the A-League social team to be hyping up such a poor crowd.

Also, there wasn’t 16k there

Every single game is apparently sold out in this league.

What are they meant to do???

“16,000 people? Really, shit showing Australia”

I mean they’re a marketing arm, they’re meant to make everything look good. It’s like people complaining about footballer interviews when they talk about wanting to win trophies etc. What else are they meant to say? "they’re a shit team so I thought i’d pop over and give it a go. "

There’s no need to say anything. You can claim the atmosphere was amazing without highlighting the crowd number.

16,000 people isn’t exactly a small amount though. That’s half decent considering it’s a final and one of the teams is interstate. Considering WSW have an average attendance of 10,000 this year, including derbies I really think you’re overthinking it. Especially when teams post their crowd numbers for every single game. In fact if they didn’t post the crowd number, there’d be people bitching and whinging about WSW wanting to hide a small crowd figure.

We’ll agree to disagree. If we were coming off the back of a 12 game unbeaten run and hosting an elimination final against MV, I’d be pretty disappointed with a crowd that low. I certainly wouldn’t be highlighting it as an impressive achievement.

And you’d be correct in doing so, we have an average of 14,000 per game at home. WSW just had an increase of 60% in crowd numbers, that’s pretty decent. I’d assume you’d be happy if we had 22,400? Which is the exact same percentage increase.

2023-34 semi-final against Central Coast was played in front of 13,813.
2022-23 semi-final against Melbourne City was played in front of 15,322.
2018-19 semi-final against Melbourne Victory was played in front of 12,141.
2017-18 semi-final against Melbourne Victory was played in front of 17,775.

On top of that, this wasn’t even a semi we’re discussing, it’s essentially a quarter final

What were the ticket prices? I assume they weren’t exactly cheap.

50 bucks at a start I think I saw.
