He’s been a tremendous servant to the game here, but I think this is the right time for him. I feel like there’s been something missing in his commentary in the last couple of years. Maybe going back to the UK will reinvigorate him as well. I wish him the best.
Agree with both your comments. Simon has been a legend.
But he has been making commentary mistakes that he previously wouldn’t have, (mixing up players, referencing a previous game incorrectly, misquoting A-league rules).
Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s the best we’ve had and I will greatly miss his calls and analysis.
I’m very firmly in the camp of Simon Hill is a legend but it is time for him to move on, as seemingly most people above are as well.
For all we know there might also be a broadcast change as well coming up that Hill is aware of, and he can’t really be bothered going through the whole interview process as well like last time (and he was ditched last time before getting hired back).
