ALM - Round 13 Discussion - 2024/25

It was said recently by someone that they were “semi-enjoyable” to watch. I needed to physically stop my eyeballs from falling out.

Interesting start in the Newcastle game with the home side taking an early lead. A Newy win would be a handy result for us.

Well there goes that dream.

Shocking defending

Scarcella to Taylor to Gibson, feel like I’ve seen that before.

And with that result, the Shame are out of the six.

Once again, Veart has done so well to get Adelaide up there, considering they’ve pissed at least 4 more points up against a wall also.

But FMD, how good is Skeletor going to have City top? They’ve had so many injuries, currently missing Leckie, Jeggo, Cohen, Nabbout, Tilio and Kuen. Even two of their more experience youth in Caputo and Lopane, but the kids are still getting the job done. They could be a massive threat once they get that lot back.

I reckon it will be harder for him once they come back - the kids are generally fearless and that gets them through - but like Matthews, they are not that consistent and can drop their head after a bad game. Will he bench the kids as soon as the stars are fit? Will the stars be too conservative for the kids and it will all fall apart? Will the kids naturally drop their consistency and lose a few games that they should’ve won easily? I reckon all of the above

I think it gives him the luxury of being able to ease them back in and build their fitness for the finals rather than having to rush them back, risking further injury.

For all of their faults it’s good to see CFG investing in the game here through their youth setup.

Reminder there’s a game on at 9:45pm tonight, Perth vs WSW. Could be interesting. Probably not a good time to face Perth away given they might have some confidence from the weekend.

Possibly, but WSW also had the weekend off so they should be relatively fresh for it.

Peak Perth.

Does JayFC still do a post-season blooper reel? That one is one of the worst I’ve ever seen, and there have been some clangers. Sail doing his best to mess up again too. Game looking like it’ll be over within the next 5 minutes.

I turned the TV on, remembered I needed to iron the work shirt for tomorrow, barely finished the collar when I hear the first goal has been scored, didn’t bother walking round to see the replay because I know there will be another one soon enough.

You missed one of the most comical OG’s the world has ever seen. They appear to have “credited” it to Lebib which is incredibly harsh on him.

Perth actually looking alright now but you just know at any given moment from the most harmless situation they can and probably will concede.

Still weird seeing Branners going up against Brilliante

Perth were the better team in the first half and they’ve deserved the equaliser. But if Wests push I think they might buckle, can’t really trust their defence.

Another absolute howler from Sail, what on earth was he doing there? Guy is an amateur.

Diabolical from Sail there.
