ALM - Round 28 Discussion - 2024/25

0-0 at AAMI so Adelaide stay in it. Adelaide had a late chance but game mostly City’s.

So we need a point out of the final two games.

And well done to Auckland on the Premiership plate.

Unfortunately it’s also confirmed City don’t have 2nd placed locked up and will have everything to play for next week. Better get it done tomorrow.

Can we rely on Talay to get 1 point in 2 matches.

Let me guess? His tactics will be ultra attacking with no defence.

Congrats Auckland on a title first up.

And congrats Bimbi on yet another trophy

Well done Auckland to become the third team to win Premier’s Plate in their first season in the A-League.

Let’s hope they now go on and lose in finals so Sydney FC can remain the only team ever to be Champion in their first season.

If they lose in the finals, its probably to Wanderers or Victory

Five teams (Auckland, City, Wanderers, The Shame and Western United) will definitely play finals football. Who the sixth team will be is a fight between Adelaide and Sydney with Adelaide having no more games to play and Sydney needing one point from their two remaining games to clinch their spot.

We need a draw vs WU tomorrow to seal the finals spot, as we have a much better GD than Adelaide.

Then I don’t mind if we rest most of the squad in the last game vs City and lose, so we can face Western Suburbs in the EF.

Some people might be against the idea of throwing a game but a rested up squad + 20km away trip makes sense.

Now watch us lose tomorrow.

City also play before WSW so will be keen to lock up the ACLE spot, and a draw won’t do it for them with worse GD.

This rounds results are absolutely how you can tell teams don’t respect this comp enough early on.

No 2-3 anymore. No 5-0 no 4-1. All actual real City results.

Now that shit is real: 1-0, 0-1, 0-0.

Auckland have been a real bright spot in the league this year. Go Bimbi!

Proper football weather in Auckland

Olympico. Good one too!

That would be embarrassing to not beat the bottom team at home on your premiership celebration day.

Are they having the trophy celebration today?

You’d hope so because they’re away next week.

According to local media they plan to lift the plate in front of the crowd today.

So if I’m right Brisbane are safely clear of a first ever wooden spoon now. Congratulations.

Disappointing, it’s only us and Roar left as foundation clubs yet to collect one.

Perth can avoid the worst goal difference in A-League history if they dont lose by more than a 4 goal margin against wgtn. The worst goal difference is -39 held by the mariners 2018-2019. Second worst is also the mariners in 2015-2016. NZ Knights also worth a mention -36 & -32 in their only two A-League seasons.
