I’m always pessimistic when it comes to playing Japan. Also, though they didn’t score against Saudi last night and struggled with us in the away game, the goals for column still says 24

Whilst Japan does have 24 goals in the plus column, 14 of those goals came in their first three games against the weakest teams in the group. Against their main competition (Saudi Arabia and us) they have scored just 3 goals in three games with two of those games being draws.

This is it. I can never be confident going into a Japan game and refuse to believe we’ll even get a point. I’m treating the game against Saudi Arabia as the pure decider.
I’ll go one further, I’m assuming we lose both matches but we will still qualify via the 3rd place playoff
