Australian National Team Thread - #PopaOut!

I have a trip in Mongolia ending October 9th. I’m seriously considering going to the game now and just adding a few more days onto the back of my holiday…

Why would anyone want to travel to such a pissant backwater place as that?

Especially straight after Mongolia.

Really torn on whether I want to go to that. Will be great to see the Roos live, but English people are the most condescending people on the face of the planet at the best of times, let alone when they’re talking to an Australian about football. I’ll end up chinning someone.

the only thing worse was being english in Sydney when we lost to you guys in 2003

We’ve gotten much worse and England have gotten much better since then. I reckon you’re safe this time around.

I’ll probably head to both. Last time I saw Australia play was against Colombia at craven cottage, around 2018.

It wasn’t actually that bad in Sunderland. I mean Sunderland was, but the people were nice.

Can always bond with the locals over Jack Rodwell

It was fine in Sunderland back in 2016. I’m a bit disappointed it’s at Wembley and not somewhere like that again.

Remember going to a pub in Sunderland that had no windows. Like it had space for windows, but there just wasn’t any and they had curtains keeping the cool air out.

Are you sure you weren’t in a strip club?

When I said “English people”, I really meant ones from the home counties.

Managed to get Matildas tickets and will try for Roos tickets too.

Brentford’s a nice little ground too, should be good

Good times for watching and some interesting games.

Reckon we’ll lose 1, 2 or 3? We seem to constantly underperform in these

I guess the allure of these games is that you never really know.

Vietnam will beat us. u20s is probably too young for Qatar to have naturalised a bunch of Brazilians yet.

Friendlies against Ecuador confirmed - March 24 at Commbank, March 28 at Marvel.

Allianz must be booked out if the match is at parra stadium. Bit of a shame but much closer to home for me so I’ll take the trade off. I’d say more chance of filling commbank too.

Ecuador will be an interesting match. They had a polar opposite run during the comnebol qualifiers to Peru. While Peru struggled in the first phase of the qualifiers and finished strong, Ecuador killed the first phase and died in the ass after achieving guaranteed qualification. For me, they are a much better side than Peru.
