If you enjoy union, Stan is pretty good albeit not all year round. It’s owned by 9 though isn’t it? Can’t see them paying for a liga

Stan have the tennis too
The league was healthiest when it was on the same platform as the EPL. Going to Optus alongside the EPL would be ideal in terms of creating a space for football fans to go nuts and binge, and know there’s piles and piles of football content.
And you would think it would be perfect for Optus as well. They do have a fair amount of dead space they need to fill
One key factor there though is production. I’m not sure who does our production under the current deal. Is it someone related to 10/Paramount? Optus wouldn’t have any sports production capability.
Optus certainly don’t want to pay for production, so I think anyone who dreams of Optus getting involved should probably end the fantasy right there and then.
Optus would have made no sense, unless we had a whole bunch of venture capital money to spend on setting up our own production capacity…
Try to Keep up!
One thing worth mentioning is that Paramount also joined a market that was absolutely bloated with streaming services. They also joined with VERY little actual content outside of sports and maybe Halo/Southpark as a driving force that could get people to sign up to. I wouldn’t be surprised if the pass/fail metrics for Paramount were based on streaming and watching figures from Fox, not realising that it would always be a very tough ask for people to sign up to yet another streaming service.
Awesome reporting from Slater there.
“I don’t know if this is true, but fuck it I’m going to say it anyway”
Fixed the Slater quote
NCIS!
But its not just NCIS.
There’s NCIS: Los Angeles.
Also, NCIS: New Orleans.
And, NCIS: Hawai’i.
And NCIS: SYDNEY!
And if anyone thinks that Paramount only just fuck up the football, I just found this nugget of gold:
They also had those Yellowstone origin series.
That being said. I would not be paying if it wasn’t for the a liga.
I’ve enjoyed Seal Team, and am currently binging my way through Madam Secretary.
They never had anything absolutely huge to bring people on though. New streaming services have essentially come in with models of “join us, we offer you something better than Netflix.” The Netflix model is, “yeah there’s some huge stuff over there, but we got more decent stuff, so sign up to both.” Disney has your Star Wars, plus the meriad of kids stuff for the parents (not to mention just the Disney name). Fox always had the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, Amazon has the new Lord of the Rings Series, but Paramount didn’t really join with an explosive show of force. They came onto the seen and brought out Halo, but Halo is a ridiculously specific series that really only speaks to a limited generation.
I shared my login with my dad so he could watch football…. Turns out all he watches is NCIS
I think all of Star Trek is P+ exclusive now? At least the current shows
I think it is, but I was talking about good shows
