Australian Women’s National Team Thread - Our best chance at a World Cup

They abbreviate “Liberty / A League Women” to “The Dub”, seems logical to me.

So how do we watch the Matildas on Saturday out at Homebush? There’s still only the two bars out there right?

They might have it on the big screen outside the Locker Room? Tumbalong Park is probably going to be the biggest venue available. With any luck, other venues will wake up and make it more available.

The locker room will show it.

Haven’t seen much about live venues which is a real shame but keeping my eyes out for it. If anyone sees anything popping up do mention it

Very disappointing that there is no big screen set up outside the stadium at Homebush, at previous games at the SFS they were showing the other games in the screens around the concourse so I’d hoped they did the same at Homebush but alas we only got the two screeching weasels that have been assaulting ours ears all tournament.

Locker room is tiny (I imagine it’ll be full very early) and we’ll have a kid in tow so unfortunately not really an option.
Was hoping they may do a big screen or even show it inside the ground

The brewery didn’t have the big screen out last time?

Meanwhile the SCG is staying open for Members and Swans Members to watch the game in Bradman/Noble Stand at the SCG post the Swans game (finishes 4.45 or so)

We tried to book a table for 3 while coming home from Monday’s match and it appeared full then.

Ryde council isnt doing anything. Someone tried to get an emergency meeting to organise butnthey scheduled it for the 15th… really poor on the council considering they had massive screens set up in Meadowbank park

Inner west is hosting its a Leichhardt Oval 3 - tucked down on the bay run… would have thought a bigger venue would have been more appropriate

hope they do something at homebush (even open the stadium earlier and watch it on the stupidly big screens in there )

Incredibly poor form by everyone but the NRL and AFL apparently (though probably more to do with the stadiums tbh).

If you want to know how much interest there is in the Matilda’s at the moment, I just saw an article on Ellie Carpenters head band

News.com just did am “expose” on which players are dating. Of course they only focused on the same sex relationships… i mean i understand sort of what they were doing, just showing how intermingled all the international teams are, but still really really really badly carried out

there is an interactive chart doing the rounds that they have obviously stumbled across

If they’re not interacting with me, why do I need an interactive chart of who they are interacting with?

People are fucking weird.

I think the more likely explanation is an attempt to paint a target on the backs of those players so the more extreme aspects of their readership can give them hell.
