The FA are today hosting three states who have been touted as possible host cities for the Women’s Asian Cup. They are New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia. No Victoria. Great decision by the FA.

Ironic that they have the home of the Matildas but not the Matildas themselves.
Not sure if it’s the best place to put this but:
FA has confirmed the host states for the Women’s Asian Cup will be Qld, NSW and WA. Really really really interesting that Victoria isn’t in there. Not sure what the go is there, unless they couldn’t guarantee stadiums? The 2022 one was played in January/Feb, but I thought I saw something that the 2026 one was to be played in July, which could class with AFL/NRL
Wasn’t it a fuck you to victoria for not releasing marvel and MCG for the WWC?
Anyone else thinking (/hoping) thay Montemurro coming in for the womens all star match against arsenal might be a bit of a lead in for him taking over the Matildas?
Fingers crossed. We really should go hard for him to take over next.
Amy Sayer has done an ACL
Already 1-0 down. Keeper got two hands on the ball but couldn’t stop it going in.
China look very impressive, especially in transition. We are all over the place and haven’t got going at all.
1-0 to China at half time and maybe unlucky not to be further ahead. China are superior technically and in terms of decision-making. The Australians are missing someone currently who can put their foot on the ball, dictate play, and actually make good decisions on the ball. The girls seem overly keen to shoot, and need to focus on creating better chances instead.
Not a bad little stadium - training ground for Bali United.
Right on the coast so a bit windy it looks.
I presume Dos Santos isn’t starting due to the fast turnaround.
Correct. Indy is named on the bench.
3-0 down. Can’t comment on why or how, as couldn’t watch, but i guess China simply played better. Football.
I didn’t watch much of the second half but I assume it continued in the same vein as the first 50-odd minutes. China looked night and day better than us, I’m afraid. No way we’re beating Japan on the basis of that game.
That said, its probably wise not to panic too much about this generation of players. North Korea smashed South Korea 7-0 in the other group yesterday.
What else do you expect from the current world cup holders?
I heard Kim Jong Un scored all 7 of them, and they were all worldies.
You mean the current women’s team that won the men’s world cup yeah?
With squad size limited to 18 for the olympics surely she won’t be going to Paris.
You’d have thought it would be Arnold and Micah or maybe Whyman, maybe a last ditch attempt to be the second keeper as a farewell.
