Bolting from the Blue- The Central Coast Mariners Thread

John Aloisi can claim to have had some success in difficult circumstances (BR). Okon appeared to have been rubbish at CCM - but that is an outsider’s view.

Left Milicic out on purpose.

A lot of folks tipped them to win it with that squad, tbh I think the squad was overrated and they were only ever top 4 at best, but you can’t say he got the most out of them or had them overperforming at any stage.

Scraped 6th, one gritty win away to CCM, then comfortably beaten by City reserves. Everything about them was bog average.

From an insiders point of view Okon was absolute rubbish. He had a good squad and did nothing with it except play position football. His man management was rubbish and he totally lost the dressing room. Expensive failure.

Maybe not before a NSD is established.

Highly doubt Aloisi will get another gig at A-League level for a while, he’d be better off having a couple of years at NPL level, gain some success there and then try again in the A-League. Both his stints in the A-League he seemed a little out of his depth.

Okons crowing achievement was an all time great VAR meltdown

WHO’S UP THERE!?

I reckon him claiming his side were better after a 4-0 drubbing by us was the pinnacle.

Daryl Braithwaite was the pinnacle and bottom of the barrel all at once.

They completed their assigned duty of beating WSW in their first “derby” with them though, and for that, I thank them.

Mate of mine reckons it’s Muller from Western Sydney

ABJ?

Only one of them is a German international.

Muller potentially an upgrade on De Silva, I’m still mystified he couldn’t get a run ahead of Troisi.

ABJ is a German Youth International player.
Either way I wouldn’t be surprised if both of them end up there. They both have their families out here and appear settled. A short trip up the road together each day for training wouldn’t be too bad

Hoping it’s Muller. Never really looked fit or utilised properly at WSW.

Met him a juniors day he attended and, unlike how he looks on the pitch, he was a thoroughly nice bloke.

I was always concerned about Muller when we played WSW. I could see a lot of potential and was afraid he’d click into gear against us.

Can’t be Podolski as he’s just signed with his first ever club in Poland (promised to retire there when he was done).

Googles the list of Germans with one cap

Sebastian Jung is listed on Wikipedia as playing in 2. Bundesliga. That’s about the most likely of the one cap players still playing. The rest seem to be in Bundesliga or other top leagues.

So its more likely to be Muller, who is already in Australia.

By ex-German, maybe they mean he had his citizenship revoked?
