Cheerleaders 2018

Sometimes I wish I’d kept my 1971 Falcon, or 77 Celica, or 84 Supra or 87 Cressida.

Other times, I’m quite cool with them being gone …

There’s a similar 1998 vs 2015 corolla video. It’s quite confronting, and along with all the giant SUVs on the road is a big reason why my 1999 2 door convertible only does about 900km each year

Sounds grim… are you booked in?
Is this an injury related thing or just luck of the draw?

Booked in on the 13th, surgeon was really good.

It looks like I’ve just enjoyed life, 15 years of navy life has smashed me and running 1000s of kilometres has got my discs trying to explode.
There was no acute injury onset, just woke up one day with a sore back.

Get that DVA paperwork sorted ASAP!

It’s funny, I was already in the process of getting it sorted for tinnitus and mental health stuff, so now I get to add this.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this gets me a med discharge to be honest, getting 3 discs done at once is pretty bad.
I don’t know how I’d get medically fit.

I doubt they’ll boot you, you’ll end up 42 or whatever it is now, and sit at a desk for life. Can’t afford to get rid of anyone these days if they can still contribute something.

Yeah I’m afraid of that too.

Have you finished your nursing qualification?

Yeah coming up on 2 years as an RN
I’ll easily be able to just get a job as a civi in the ICU I’ve been doing placement at.

If you get a medical discharge, is your pension screwed?

There isn’t a pension anymore.

There is a pension that you get through DVA for medical issues, if you are injured enough.
If you have medical issues it’s better to get medically discharged to get all your issues sorted out.

DVA claims are seperate to the defence medical system.

It’s worth it when you’re injured enough to be discharged, but good enough to still work another job.

We were eating dinner last night when we heard some yelling and screaming outside a little bit further down the street, there is a known drug dealer living about 5 houses down, so there is always junkies about, but never had any particular issues with them other than them asking for money.

Yelling got a bit louder and sounded like it was directly outside our flat, so I looked out the window and this middle aged junkie was standing directly outside our entrance waving a 10 inch knife around. Rang the police straight away and he walked down the road banging on a few doors. They arrived within around 2 minutes and drew tasers on him, before he ran down the road.

About 15 minutes later, we heard more yelling so looked out and there was another guy outside the drug house demanding entry. He was calling everyone who walked past a pedo, nonce or sex offender, was waving his dick around like a helicopter, baring his arse to everyone and singing song about how he loves crack. Interesting Wednesday night

Someone else across the road had already rung the police on him when we first looked out. They arrived a few minutes later and chased him off down the street.

You must save lots of money by never needing to pay for subscription services when opening your curtains is easily better than anything you’d watch on the TV
