Does anyone understand the metrics behind playing out from the back? Given that the vast majority of possession in the front third doesn’t lead to a goal and losing possession trying to play out often results in giving up a very good goal scoring chance, it’s hard to believe it’s a winning play at this level where the technical level makes it so risky?
