There seems to be a lot of 777 scores from many of us over the various days.
We must have something in our memories that puts these images a few years off.

Rory. Is there something you want to tell us with your Seppo date there?
My grandfather on my dad’s side had quite an interesting life. Born in Salford in 1920, he lost his job on the railways in early 1939, couldn’t find another job, so joined the British Army in May 1939 in the Royal Artillery (great timing with the war breaking out in September).
He was sent over to France as part of the BEF in late 1939 and fought in the battle for France before falling back to Dunkirk. He told us stories as kids of them firing their 25-Pounders towards the approaching Germans from the beach and being strafed by German aircraft. They were finally given the orders to evacuate and left the guns with some French troops, before getting on a fishing trawler back to England.
After Dunkirk he was sent to India to prepare for the Burma campaign. While in India, he got a local woman pregnant. Her family tried to force him to marry her, but he was already married back in England (not my grandmother yet). So my dad has a half sister somewhere in India
He went on to serve in Burma for the rest of the war and was wounded. He was shot whilst having a piss, two bullets struck him in his left bicep ruining a tattoo of a naked girl he had on his arm. one of the scars was over her face, so a touch up afterwards made her look like a burn victim. Whilst in Burma he was promoted to Sergeant.
We have some old newspaper clipping about him whilst serving in Burma, he was mentioned in dispatches for dragging his gun up a steep hill with his men to attack an enemy position. He had some pretty terrible stories from his time fighting the Japanese, particularly when they were advancing, the Japanese would leave tortured British captives behind for them to find.
After the war he also moved to Australia as a 10 Pound Pom, in 1968 when my dad was 7. Got a job with the railways in Sydney and until he retired, he was an iron smelter, making train wheelsets from warehouses in Eveleigh.

Phone language was on US english. Apologies to anyone who may have been hurt or offended by the sight of US date format.
For the record, I don’t have any objection to US English (it is a language which evolves after all, and that is its strength) but US date format is an abomination, and working in Information Technology I have wasted many an hour in it.

I just had a thought of the correlation between rugby league going full time professional and the demise of garbos and their replacement by the mechanical arm …
It’s the only one I’ve been absolutely sure of!
Me too!
If I recall correctly from the book about him, Olsen Filippaina loved the mechanical arm, he said it made his job so much easier and was way easier on the body and he could keep working longer. I’ll have a look in the book and find it when I can.
Fail town!

Again those bloody black and white photos!
I played the first one on Amiga 500. Haven’t stopped for each iteration.
Got intrigued and learned about history as a young boy through this.
So excited for this next one. Civilization VII. (Official Gameplay Showcase - 25min)
