Ticket sales aren’t looking good based on the Ticketek site. We’ll need Trust members to help us crack 10k. I could probably count them but no more than 100 Macarthur away active tickets have sold over their 3 bays.
Rain on the day of a game isn’t that bad but rain the entire week leading up will get people to second guess, this one is on FTA as well.
With the afl starting next door at 1.45… what time is it likely to be over? It’s the sydney derby so likely a big crowd so conscious of parking (bringing the kids who averse to public transport at night)
True - also if we win we’ll then get another home and away finals game so there’s not as much motivation to go.
@MrRooney I think AFL games go for around 3 hours, so should well and truly be done by 5pm, crowd should all be gone by 6 I’d think. Don’t think there’d be much overlap, you might get some people that stick around and head to fox studios for dinner/drinks though.
I don’t think that’s true. We got 15k vs City last year, and finals games for most clubs post-Covid seem to at least be at their season average for all clubs in the league. There’s also a number of bumper crowds in that time. Adelaide and CCM last year for example. This is an abnormally bad number.
Edit: Don’t get me wrong, I totally get why people wouldn’t want to go tomorrow, it’s going to be shocking weather.
We’ll probably end up getting like 12k or so which is below our average, but factoring in the bad weather all week it’s not horrible. Good weather all week and on gameday and we’d be looking at 15k I’d say.
You have to remember PAXs for these finals games are a good indicator because almost everyone with a ticket will turn up, as opposed to a regular season game where around 1/3 of members don’t attend. So PAX will seem a lot lower than a regular game is my point.
Basically, unless a team has been in a bit of a finals drought and there’s some novelty associated with the game, you can pretty much expect a regular-season crowd for the fixture.
