Everything is on fire - the US politics thread

Threatening illegal migrants with execution is similar, though.

Hold hold, heā€™s no where near close, I mean has he taken all of Americaā€™s problems and blamed it on a single race or ethnicity? Has he blamed economic downturn on the same race? Has he claimed that itā€™s an influx of foreigners into the country that have caused their problems? Has he even once suggested that heā€™s going to put foreigners into camps before coming up with a final solution for them? I mean lets not get too overblown here

Heā€™s still got the entire Ted Nugent and Kid Rock back catalogues to choose from.

Hah. Fairly sure I know where Sinead would have told him to go. Iā€™m sure she wouldnā€™t have been as diplomatic as some other artists have been.

I mean he eats meat. Hitler didnā€™t eat meat

Trueā€¦

But apparently he likes his steaks well done. Not just well done, but like leather-tough overdone. And then he drenches it all in Ketchup.

Heā€™s worse than Hitler.

Harris is pretty much a pre-tea party Republican, so shouldnā€™t be that much of an issue.

He isnā€™t Hitler but vilifying on the basis of race, trying to overturn a democratic election and threatening to set the military on your political enemies does make him Hitler adjacent.

Kamala just did an interview on Fox and reportedly smashed it. She pushed back on Baierā€™s questions, with him playing clips to her, out of context, to try and trap her up. There was a comparison between his interviewing of Kamala vs Trump and he was significantly softer on Trump. The fact that she went on there was good though.

Yes it was apparently ā€˜testyā€™.

I guess thatā€™s good going compared to the ā€œtesteā€ interview we get when they have that massive, racist orange bollock on.
Still weā€™ll have four more years of the lying senile orange gonad, Or at least two plus, before he invariably pops his clogs or ends up in a care home while JD Prez takes over. Heā€™s not looking or sounding well, and is clearly on a final two month burst of adrenaline in an effort to make the country great again (or keep out of jail and try and milk more money from the scum, whichever comes first).

Is the American election actually above convincing swing voters or just convincing people from your side to actually vote?

Seems to be both. A relatively small number of swing voters in certain states, and making sure there are no surprises by getting your regular voters out elsewhere. At least for the Democrats. For the Republicans itā€™s those same swing voters and trying to suppress or divide the left vote.

You misspelt Adderall.

Biden won based on 40,000 votes in swing states

I mean, he won by 7 million votes, but itā€™s true that if 43k voters across Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin had changed their votes heā€™d have won the popular vote by 7 million and had an electoral college tie, and then it goes to the house. Each State delegation would then vote, and whoever has the majority of State delegations is President. Republicans win the majority of members in more states, so if ever itā€™s a tie, they win.

That doesnā€™t mean he convinced swing voters, just more of his supporters to show up.

I genuinely donā€™t understand what policies can possibly be swinging someone from trump to harris or vice versa.

Itā€™s not policy, itā€™s person
