Everything is on fire - the US politics thread

Interestingly a Republican win is starting to pull away in betting markets. A good site that shows an aggregate of betting markets: Election Betting Odds by Maxim Lott and John Stossel

I’m not sure Kamala’s black male economic support plan went down that well. Trump is gaining in popularity with Black and Hispanic voters according to recent polls as well.

But of course a lot can change in a few weeks.

Didn’t Trump just have a rally where he stood on stage for 30+ minutes just listening to music?

Must have been some good music, whatever it is it’s working for him.

….While a medical emergency was being tended to on the floor….

Saying Trump is losing his mind is a more heartwarming story though. Why let context get in the way of a good story?

Yes, because the moment a medical emergency hits, it’s a good idea to start dancing and playing music…

Edit: to make it even funnier, it happened after they’d been taken out…

If there were no music you’d make a post about him standing there doing nothing for 30 mins questioning his mental acuity.

If he answered questions during the medical emergency you’d make a post about him answering questions during a medical emergency and being insensitive.

We get it, you hate him, most people here hate him. Not everything he does makes him literally hitler though.

People feinted, they were removed, Trump then said" “Let’s not do any more questions. Let’s just listen to music. Let’s make it into a music. Who the hell wants to hear questions, right?” And stood there dancing on stage for 30 minutes.

Are you really that daft? There’s been plenty of medical emergencies in concerts, football games and rallies. The moment it’s identified, if it’s serious enough, people stop, wait for it to be fixed and then they continue. The fact that you’ve gone and spun the story line and version of events your own way is even more laughable.

Playlist, pretty good mix of things there:

Every Song at the Town Hall:

  • “God Bless America”
  • “Ave Maria”
  • “Time to Say Goodbye”
  • “YMCA!”
  • “Hallelujah”
  • “Nothing Compares 2 U”
  • “An American Trilogy”
  • “Rich Men North of Richmond”
  • “November Rain”
  • “Memory”

Not really trying to spin anything, in fact if you look closely another poster made that post above about people fainting, not me.

Anyway let’s get back on topic…

Yep, majority by artists that have started legal proceedings, banning Trump from using their music…

He should have played some Hawkwind or Marillion

I wonder if they realise that YMCA is a song about gay men cruising and picking up young trade?

Hallelujah is apparently half religion and half him screwing a chick in a one night stand…

Very true, it’s only most of his words and his actions that remind people that he’s a fascist cunt.

I have a mate who loves American stuff, football, American trucks, the whole Texas vibe, he also has a Maga hat.

I’ve no idea why, he is so sensible otherwise.

My biological dad who lives in Florida is a card carrying republican, and DESPISES everything Trump stands for.

And he’s Floridian. Thankfully a sensible man.

When he was out here it was when Trump go his ear blown off. I’ve never seen somebody so passionately disappointed that somebody wasn’t assassinated

genuine question for him… does he vote for trump as a republican or Harris so Trump doesn’t get in (and going against a lot of what he believed) or just not vote at all?

He was saying to me that choosing between Biden or Trump was like eating raw chicken or drinking expired milk. Both are terrible fucking options.

He’s not convinced on Harris, but he did say that its the best out of a bad batch.

He did vote for Trump over Hilary, but he said that again, raw chicken or expired milk.

Chances are that he’ll vote Democratic this time, if nothing for his daughters sake (shes Trans - which in Florida is about as risky as you can get)

He does enjoy telling us he’s been investigated more than Al Capone though.
