California started preparing for this possibility a while back. Im sure there would be a few hurdles to overcome. But the insane level of partisanship in that country makes it feel like serious violence or a split is an inevitable outcome.

What would that look like?
Clearly California has the economy to go it alone, but you wonder whether Oregon and Washington would join them? Would make it a challenge for the remaining states without access to the Pacific ocean. And if you had those 3, would any of the north east join? Then that starts to be a full split.
What happens militarily when a country splits? Has it ever occured amicably? Would California keep the military based there? Or is it at that stage just a literal civil war and the winners get the spoils?
Interesting thought exercise.
Military is federal, so in theory theyâd need to expel them and give all the kit backâŠmight start asking AI what would happen and really go down the rabbit hole.

There was a camera operator I think who got hit with a riot shield during the clearing of the park around the white house for Trumps walk to the nearby church.
There was also a photojournalist who got shot in the eye with a rubber bullet during the BLM stuff but she wasnât Australian I donât think.
I know the Aussie Ch 9 reporter got shot the other day, but being a non-white journalist travelling to the US to cover the current instabilityâŠ

Why are all the press wearing dark fucking clothing? Wear something super fucking bright that clearly has PRESS in big white/yellow/hot pink lettering on it back and front so people know not to shoot you. That ABC journo who was supposedly tear gassed was dressed similarly to the dude above.
